Manchester United activated a one-year contract extension for Nemanja Matic.

The club is expected to negotiate a longer term deal for the 31-year-old midfielder.

Matic has established himself as a first-team midfielder next to Fred. 

Matic said that several teams were looking to sign him over the winter window. 

"I can't tell who is asking for me but for sure, when you play at Manchester United, many clubs are looking to sign you," he said to reporters. "That's not only me, it's for every player – especially when you're out of contract.

"My first option is Manchester United, but if they decide something else then there are always solutions."

Roger Schmidt is set to take over PSV at the end of this season.

Schmidt will replace Ernest Faber.

Schmidt, who was the former manager at Bayer Leverkusen, last managed Beijing Guoan in July 2019. 

Tyler Adams signed a contract extension with RB Leipzig that takes him through the 2025 season.

Adams joined the Bundesliga side from the New York Red Bull last January.

RB Leipzig is currently second on the Bundesliga table, with Adams currently out with a calf injury.

Adams also last played for the USMNT in March 2019.
